Cuiyao Zeng (Zoe):
This blog is about Zoe’s writing journey, and she revealed a little bit of her background. Zoe mentioned that she is a trilingual speaker who can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I commented about my admiration towards her, and I’ve also been thinking of learning a new language.
Yian Lin:
I read this blog written by Yian Lin. He talked about how COVID-19 negatively impacts his opportunity to improve his English skills since he has to stay in China and study online. I commented that I could definitely relate to his situation since I am surrounded by Vietnamese people and practicing English is impossible in this environment.
Shiwei Hu (Chris):
Chris wrote about his difficulty in making his thoughts flow when he writes. That’s why he has to spend more time on his writing assignments compared to other classmates. I left a comment that we are all self-conscious about our writings, but hopefully, we can improve our skills by the end of the course.
Emmanuel Valencia Ortega:
I commented on Emmanuel’s blog titled The Wonder of Week One. She said in her AP English Literature and Composition class, she has to interpret the meaning of different arrays of literature and analyze the main ideas of a text. My comment was about the similarity we share since I also took that class during my senior year in high school. The class was beneficial since it prepared me for college writing.
Yuying Yu (Christy):
In this blog from week 1, Christy said that one of her writing weaknesses is trying to expand her vocabulary. I commented that I also chose vocabulary as my weakness in my personal blog. Trying to avoid redundancy in writing tends to be difficult sometimes.
Xiefeng Zheng (Shane):
I read this blog written by Shane titled Where I’m Starting. He wrote about his interest in the course topic since it’s about Disney and gender. I replied that I was quite surprised when I first read the course topic too since I always think that all writing classes are boring. It is quite impressive how all the activities we have to do contribute to our final essay.I am looking forward to our future lessons.
